From Echuca take Goulburn Road along and it then becomes Bangerang
Road. Follow Bangerang Road along until you come to Simmie
Road and take the turn left and it continues on dirt road for about
There is a cattle grid type of gateway into the Echuca Regional Park
and camping sites are scattered along the river. The toilets
are located at the far end of the area up near the bend or point
where the river changes direction.
Amenities: Two unisex drop toilets with two cubicles in
Mobile Phone Reception: Yes - better with external
Area: The overall area is quite large and there are gum
trees just about everywhere. Care should be taken camping under the
trees. Big rigs may find it difficult to negotiate the track in as
well as some of the low branches. The tracks would become very boggy
following heavy rain.
Comments: At the time of our visit fires were permitted
but they would not be allowed during fire bans. Our visit
(Sunday) also coincided with the beginning of the water skiing
season so there were a number of people camped here and ski boats
active on the river all day. Tuesday is Melbourne Cup day so
it is a long weekend here therefore more people than normal.
